Two road-and-home games where the stronger side's edge comes from roles that are actually on the floor. In Houston, a long, rebounding home team meets a visitor that has lost the exact pieces behind its fast start: the turnover forcers and the rim protector. In Milwaukee, the visitors' two foul-drawing creators run straight into the home side's most repeated weakness. Neither game looks like a blowout, but in both the structure leans one way.

Houston and Oklahoma City. The Thunder's early run was built on forcing turnovers with Wallace, Caruso and Jalen Williams, and on Holmgren at the rim. All four are out. Without them, OKC forced only 13 and 11 turnovers in its last two games and shot poorly from deep, including 5 of 32 in Dallas. Houston is the opposite profile: Sengun is back off the injury report, Capela returns to the bench, and this group owns the glass. They had 20 offensive rebounds in Dallas even without Sengun, and they have held every opponent to around 30 percent from three.

The key matchup is Houston's offensive glass against an OKC frontcourt of Hartenstein and a rookie, with no Holmgren behind them. Houston is missing VanVleet and Sheppard on the second night of a back-to-back, which thins its ball-handling. But the OKC defenders who used to punish loose handles are the ones sitting. Houston's bench of Capela, Eason and Bogdanovic should also handle OKC's young second unit, which scored 19 points combined in Dallas, and that lets Houston's starters rest. I expect Houston to build through second chances and free throws in the first half and hold through the bench minutes, with Durant closing against a roster that has no healthy wing stopper. The margin may stay modest, but that's why I'm siding with Houston to win.

Milwaukee and Cleveland. Harden and Mitchell drew 22 or more free throws in every game, and Milwaukee gave up a big free-throw gap in four of its five games. Mobley and Allen finish inside. Milwaukee has shot just over 31 percent from three and has turned it over 16 to 22 times in four of five games. On common opponents, Cleveland measures a few possessions better even after adjusting for the road. All five Cleveland starters played in the last game. Milwaukee's way back is a big three-point night in the third quarter, but Cleveland's foul-drawing pressure is the more repeatable channel, so I'm siding with Cleveland to win on the road.
