This match is a three-point volume team on the second night of a back-to-back against a rested, deep opponent. Orlando's shooting is real, but its guard and wing defenders are almost all gone and its starters carried 39 minutes the night before. Washington's offence lives in the paint and at the foul line, exactly where a tired, thin backcourt gets tested. Before fatigue the two sides are close to level; the legs decide it.

Orlando wins its games from deep. It takes about 40 threes against a Washington defence that allows around 42 a game, and it made 18 in both of its wins. That volume is the home side's best weapon and it does not go away.

The problem is who is left to defend. Suggs, Isaac and Penda were already out, and now Black sits as well after playing 32 minutes and drawing 11 of Orlando's 19 free throws against Boston. Orlando used only nine players in that game, with Bane and Franz Wagner both at 39 minutes. Wagner is now the lone creator again on tired legs.

Washington comes in with three days of rest and used 13 players last time out. Trae Young had 14 free-throw attempts and nine assists against Charlotte, and he gets a backcourt with none of Orlando's point-of-attack defenders. Davis and Ayton work the paint. Losing Sarr hurts Washington's rim protection, but this Orlando roster has few drivers left to punish that.

The early quarters should belong to Orlando's fresher legs and its three-point volume. The turn should come in the third and fourth, when the 39-minute starters have to go again and Washington's second unit and Young's foul-drawing keep pressure on the guards.

Counting it up, Orlando's edge from deep is matched by Washington's free throws, turnovers and paint scoring, and the schedule tips the balance. That's why I'm siding with Washington to win on the road.
