Juventus and Napoli both reach this one with their engine rooms emptied, and I think that is the real story, more than either table position. Juve have Thuram, Locatelli and Gonzalez all out in midfield, plus Conceição and Yildiz up front. Napoli have lost Lobotka in the middle and three defenders (Buongiorno, Badiashile, Spinazzola). So the question I'd ask: whose patched-up shape holds the ball better, and whose back line gets stretched first?

Juventus first. Per our standings they have scored 11 and conceded 10 in nine league games, and the last three league results were 0-3 at home to Lazio, 2-0 at Lecce and 0-2 at Genoa. That is a team whose scoring is thin (11 in nine) with two of its forwards missing, so with Thuram and Locatelli gone too, it is hard to see where the ball progression comes from except wide. Grabara is also out in goal.

Napoli are the opposite shape: 17 scored, 11 conceded, and recent matches that keep turning into shootouts (4-1 at Monza, 3-3 with Roma, 4-3 over Bodø/Glimt, then a 0-1 at Venezia). They create plenty, but with three defenders out, the games they play are open ones, and Lobotka's absence removes the player who would normally slow those games down.

So I don't see a clean favourite here, I see two incomplete teams asking different questions. Does Juve's thin attack have enough in it to punish a Napoli back line that keeps getting stretched, or does Napoli's depth up front simply outrun a Juve midfield made of replacements? Curious what you think about which hole is bigger.
