LG has been the team that shuts Suwon KT's offence down, and KT looks even thinner on that end right now. Without point guard Kim Sun-hyung, KT's attack is basically Paris Bass and not much else, and LG arrives off a 103-68 opener where the ball moved and five players scored in double figures. I think the gap here can be wider than the market is saying.
Last season LG took five of the six meetings, and KT was held under 70 in all five of those losses, averaging only 64.7 points over the six games. Four of LG's wins were by 12 points or more. That was a defence-first LG, and the opener showed a version that also runs: ten fast breaks against Busan KCC.
KT's start has real causes behind it. They lost all three games from the Open Match Day cup games through the season opener. They gave up 114 to Goyang Sono, trailed Anyang by 21 at one point, and in the loss to Seoul Samsung everyone except Bass shot 35% from the field, even though KT won the offensive rebounding 22-10. Bass himself was efficient with 35 points, which is exactly why the lack of help matters.
LG is not at full strength, since Yu Ki-sang is still out with an ankle injury, but Karl Tamayo is back and scored 12 in the opener. LG also had a bit more rest, about three days against KT's two. The ball movement that carried the opener does not depend on one scorer, and that is what I trust most in this matchup.
