Talleres bring pressure in spells and look to turn wide moves into close chances. Independiente have escaped pressure through Montiel and Abaldo, but their recent away results have come with uneven control of the ball and the box. The first pass out of the press and the space left after each attack should shape this match. Set pieces and their second balls add another contest for both teams.
Under Omar De Felippe, Talleres use a back four and a deeper midfield pair to release Rick and Depietri. They created a strong run of box chances against Unión and pushed Belgrano harder after the break. Sforza and Galarza meet Marcone and Independiente's revised midfield in the central battle; out wide, Rick and Depietri can drive at a defence expected to have new combinations.
Meza played and scored in Independiente's last match, but is absent from the travelling squad after his dismissal. Zabala is also absent, while Ávila has only recently returned to action. That leaves Montiel and Abaldo important as outlets, with Talleres pressing the pass that reaches them. De Felippe's choice of Valoyes or Dávila changes the shape of the home box attack, and both fit a plan to keep service coming from the flanks.
I expect Talleres to build pressure through midfield recoveries, wide entries and second balls, especially as the match opens up. Independiente's quick comeback at Unión showed its transition threat, yet that game produced little sustained chance supply and now lacks Meza's linking run. That's why I'm siding with Talleres to win this match.
