Sydney–Breakers has a question that a points column cannot answer: who gets each side into its offence cleanly? Sydney will be without Matthew Dellavedova, while New Zealand is still missing Parker Jackson-Cartwright and waiting on Nelson Weidemann's clearance. Sam Mennenga's huge game in Perth kept the Breakers competitive without settling their ball-handling problem. I want to see whether Carlin Davison can keep creating the next good look when Sydney changes its guard rotation too.
The NBL says Dellavedova is out with a calf injury. RNZ reports Jackson-Cartwright's lower-leg injury and Weidemann's delay; the Breakers' own release says Davison had 11 assists in Perth while Mennenga put up 40 points and 18 rebounds in a loss. Those numbers show that New Zealand could still create offence through other hands, but one game cannot tell us whether that setup holds against a different defence. Sydney lost its last recorded game to Adelaide after three league wins, so its own adjustment matters here as much as New Zealand's.
