Shakhtar's build from the back meets Sporting's pressure and wide progression. Sporting can create an early box entry, while Shakhtar's wide runners can attack the space left beyond it. Blackburn and Stoke are shaped by a midfield contest and the quality of the second ball. In both matches, the first successful release will matter more than the recent results alone.

Sporting's Fresneda can feed Lima or Suárez, but Shakhtar have a response through Alisson and Vinícius Tobias into the far-side space Sporting recently conceded. Pedrinho is out after his injury exit, so Isaque's first reception matters; the attack's wide runners and Riznyk's goalkeeper response were still visible in European play. Sporting's Debast and Nuno Santos also remain out, with their replacement defenders having played the last recorded match. Shakhtar can settle into a controlled phase after the first exchange and find the wide box contact. That's why I'm siding with Shakhtar to stay with or finish ahead of Sporting.

Blackburn's Cantwell delivery and Guðjohnsen's box movement work best when Morsy can protect the first pass and recover a second ball. Morsy returns after a suspension, while Stoke lose Galbraith's passing and Cissé's forward carry from their recent away attacks; those are current changes from the last observed matches. McGlynn can still supply Stoke from a restart, but the missing full-game link makes repeated progression harder. Blackburn should be able to build a home spell, regain around the box and turn a completed reception into the lead. That's why I'm siding with Blackburn to beat Stoke.
