Phoenix and Orlando both have ways to create an early scoring edge, but this matchup turns on what happens after the first paint action. Orlando's extra handler can keep the ball moving when that lane closes, while Phoenix has enough individual scoring to answer. The late defensive rebound may matter as much as the first shot. Golden State and Miami present a different test: pressure and paint attacks against a home offense that has repeatedly found a second scoring route.

Phoenix scored through Devin Booker, Jalen Green and Mikal Bridges against Portland, yet still gave up a damaging middle quarter and struggled to finish defensive possessions without Mark Williams. Franz Wagner's drives and reads, Wendell Carter's inside touches and Desmond Bane's kickouts give Orlando several ways to work that center rotation. Anthony Black, who missed the Washington game, is back off the injury report after playing a major creation role in the Toronto comeback; Banchero, Suggs and Isaac remain out, so Wagner and Bane still carry the attack.

Booker and Green can keep Phoenix close, especially against Orlando's depleted perimeter. The key is whether Black's next pass produces a useful shot after Phoenix stops Wagner's first drive, and whether Orlando secures the board after a Suns answer. Phoenix plays after heavy core minutes against Portland, while Orlando comes in rested. I give Orlando's repeated paint and second-action supply the stronger route through the final possessions. That's why I'm siding with the Orlando Magic.

Miami can start with Davion Mitchell's high pressure, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo attacking inside, and Klay Thompson moving into open space. Golden State has answered early deficits with Stephen Curry's creation, Brandin Podziemski's extra pass and scoring from its frontcourt. Its win over the Clippers without Curry and Draymond Green, followed by a Phoenix win after Green's ejection, showed more than one source for the next basket.

Mitchell's strips and Miami's late comeback against the Clippers deserve respect, but that same game included a major defensive lapse and heavy overtime minutes for Miami's core. Curry and Green played Golden State's last game; Al Horford and Brandon Williams are expected back after missing it, adding depth around Bassey and the other handlers. Butler, Moody, Porzingis and Santos remain out for Golden State, while Miami's main scorers played the Clippers game. Curry drawing the first defender, Podziemski and Lendeborg using the space, and the frontcourt closing the next possession give Golden State a strong finish to a close game. That's why I'm siding with the Golden State Warriors.
