Atlanta and Houston can both score through several roles, but they reach those shots in different ways. Atlanta pressures the first pass and turns loose balls into runs, while Houston uses Sengun and Durant to settle possessions and reach the line. San Diego and Seattle also have a clear contest between possession and the first pass after a regain. The key in both games is which team can repeat its best attacking sequence after the opening exchanges.
Daniels, Alexander-Walker and Dort give Atlanta several bodies to press Houston's guards, and Johnson can turn those steals into early offense. Houston's San Antonio win showed a strong Sengun finish and free-throw route, supported by its size on the glass. VanVleet played heavy, controlled minutes in that game but is officially out here, as is Adams; Sheppard missed that game and remains questionable. Atlanta's absent Gueye and Veesaar also missed its latest game, leaving its current guard and wing creation intact.
Atlanta's starters were used lightly in the Charlotte win, and the team had already shown a separate late scoring response against Orlando. That gives Snyder several ways to keep creating when Houston slows the game through Sengun. That's why I'm siding with Atlanta to win.
San Diego can build long possessions and work Dreyer or Bakambu into the box. Seattle can pressure the first pass, then use Rusnák, Morris and Joveljić to attack the space behind those advances; its current group created plenty of shots at Dallas and against Montreal. Achouri played most of San Diego's last match but is now out, removing a wide dribbler. Yeimar also played Seattle's last match and is now out, while Ragen has been reported fit and Seattle's attacking absences were already present during its latest shot production.
An early San Diego spell can be met by Seattle's direct runners, and Seattle's later supply from Ferreira or Arriola can keep that response going. San Diego has repeatedly allowed dangerous follow-up attacks after taking the initiative. That's why I'm siding with Seattle to avoid defeat.
