Tigre against Banfield sets a side that has been scoring only after the hour against one that keeps scoring just before the break, so the real question is who gets the first goal and what the half-time scoreline looks like. In their last three league games in our records Tigre conceded first every time (6th, 14th and 60th minute) and all three of their own goals came from the 57th minute on. Banfield have scored before half-time in each of their last three, then watched the lead or the level score slip after the break. I'd watch the opening half hour more than the table.

Tigre first, from the match records in our DB (results still marked provisional). At Argentinos Juniors they were 0-2 down by the 42nd minute, then pulled one back in the 57th, and lost 1-2. The odd part is that the match stats do not read like a beating: 13 shots each, xG 1.71 against 0.66, 55% of the ball. They also missed a penalty in first-half stoppage time. Against Velez it was 0-1 at the break, level in the 57th minute, behind again in the 67th, level again in the 87th, and then Velez scored in the 89th. Before that, at home to Rosario Central, they were level at 0-0 until a penalty in the 60th minute, with Rosario down to ten from the 76th and Tigre still unable to equalise (xG 1.37 to 2.02).

Banfield are the mirror image. Against Barracas Central they scored in first-half stoppage time and conceded a penalty in the 62nd. At Gimnasia they equalised in the 38th minute, went behind in the 62nd and rescued a 2-2 with a goal in the 90th, despite being outshot 23 to 10 and trailing 0.44 xG to 3.54. At home to Rosario Central they scored in the 41st and conceded in the 80th, in a game where they had 21 shots to 13 but only 35% of the ball. So they get to the break in good shape, but the second halves have been where it unravels.

The two patterns pull against each other. If Tigre fall behind early again, they are walking into a side whose strength has been the first half, and their own goals tend to arrive too late to matter. If Tigre hold the opening 45 minutes level, the second half is where Banfield's recent leaks and Tigre's recent scoring both sit. The older meetings add little on their own, but they fit the tight picture: of seven games in our records, none ended in a draw and six were decided by a single goal.

One caveat: this is a small sample of a few games each, and Banfield's two 1-1 results were not controlled games (Gimnasia's xG was far higher). I'd read it as a pointer to the early phase of the match, not as a forecast.
