This game is decided by ball security more than by talent at the top. The Knights force turnovers and run, and KoGas have struggled to look after the ball whenever a team pressures them. KoGas' usual edge on the glass came against teams short of imports, and the Knights have two. Their shooting from deep has been poor in every game I looked at.
The structure on all four lines points the same way. The Knights' scoring holds up against decent defences, and they just won by 14 on the road at the league leaders. KoGas scored around 70 against the two good defences they faced and have lost heavily on the road already. Adjusted for the level of opponent, the gap is wider than a single possession or two.
The key matchup is the Knights' pressure, around ten steals a game, against a KoGas backcourt that coughed it up 12 to 18 times against pressure. KoGas' best counter is the free-throw line through Aluma and Belangel, and that is a real edge for them. But it does not fix a team shooting around a quarter of its threes.
On the lineups, the Knights' latest win was already played without Daniel, so that absence is in the numbers. How many focused minutes Aluma gives KoGas is the open question on their side.
Expect a slow Knights start, then separation in the second and third quarters when turnovers turn into transition baskets, as in past home meetings that ended with clear margins. The fourth quarter is their soft spot, but a double-digit lead going in should hold enough. That's why I'm siding with the Knights to win by a clear margin.
