Two J1 games where one side keeps dragging the match into its own half and the other struggles to leave it. In both, the shot and chance rows point the same way over a good run of games.
Mito against Sanfrecce Hiroshima: Mito are 17th, five straight league defeats, averaging under nine shots a game while allowing about fourteen. Sanfrecce hold roughly 60 percent of the ball, take around eighteen shots and win more than seven corners a game. Mito score about one goal a game, so they need a set piece or a counter while Sanfrecce waste their volume, the way it happened at Nagasaki. Level results are rare for both sides lately. The squad injury flags on Mito are single-source, so I give them no weight. That's why I'm siding with Sanfrecce to win.
Okayama against FC Tokyo: Tokyo are second and over their last seven games with data they average about seventeen shots to Okayama's twelve, and more than five on target to under three. Their wide delivery through Ishihara, Anzai and Nagakura meets an Okayama back line that gives up a lot of shots, and Tokyo's recent starting eleven has barely changed. The five doubtful Tokyo names did not start or come off the bench in the last league game, so they look like long-term squad flags. Okayama have lost four of their last five and their route is corners and counters. Tokyo drew nil-nil at Kashiwa despite nineteen shots, so a draw is a real path, but Okayama's own chance numbers are only level. That's why I'm siding with Tokyo to win away.
