Galatasaray go to Konya a centre-back light after the derby, and I think that matters more than their form. Our absence list shows Abdülkerim Bardakcı out through suspension, and Konyaspor have turned their home games into low-event, clean-sheet matches. So my question is whether a patched Galatasaray back line, which has already lost 2-0 here on its last visit, is more exposed to a side that only needs one set piece or one quick break.
Galatasaray first. Per Sports Mole's preview, they beat Fenerbahçe 2-1 with Osimhen scoring twice, and Fenerbahçe pulled one back in the 62nd minute, so the derby was not quiet at the back. Davinson Sánchez is the experienced partner who stays, but whoever pairs with him is new to this shape. Sports Mole also notes four defeats in their last six trips to this ground. Sources disagree on how long Bardakcı's ban is, so I would treat the length as unconfirmed.
Konyaspor's side. The same preview has them unbeaten in three home games (0-0 with Başakşehir, 1-0 over Trabzonspor, 2-0 over Gençlerbirliği), all with clean sheets, after losing their first two at home. The latest win came from centre-back Chidozie Awaziem scoring twice, which tells you where their goals come from: deep, dead-ball and second-phase moments rather than build-up. Our list has only Adil Demirbağ out for them.
Where they meet. Galatasaray usually pin opponents back, so Konyaspor's low block gets tested by volume. The question is what happens after Galatasaray lose the ball: with a new centre-back pairing, the cover behind the full-backs is the weak link, and Konyaspor's attackers only need a few clean exits. Prior home dominance of the league leader is not the same as an answer, because the back line that conceded here before is not the one that will start this time.
