Three Turkish volleyball matches, three different shapes. Two are established top-flight hosts against sides still finding their level after promotion or a rebuild, and the third is a heavyweight visiting a home team playing its first league match of the season.
Galatasaray host newly promoted Onikisubat. Onikisubat's strong recent form comes from the lower division; their only top-flight game was a home loss to Gebze with two sets lost by wide margins. Galatasaray's opening defeat came at a stronger side in tight sets. I'm siding with Galatasaray to win the match; a set lost along the way would not change that.
Gebze host Sungurlu. Gebze already beat this exact opponent 3-0 in the cup and won away at Onikisubat a week later, both without the foreign player who broke his hand. Sungurlu's wins come from the lower division with a newly assembled squad. That's why I'm siding with Gebze at home.
Gaziantep Genclik meet Fenerbahce in their first league match after a postponed opener. Fenerbahce are much stronger on paper, but they lost their own opener in three close sets and still look unsettled, while Gaziantep have an incomplete squad. A sweep is the only way Gaziantep's side of the line fails, and Fenerbahce rarely produced those last season. That's why I'm on Gaziantep taking at least a set.
