Miami host Minnesota with Giannis Antetokounmpo debuting next to Bam Adebayo. That pairing is built on paint pressure, rebounding and free throws. Minnesota bring a guard-heavy group of Edwards and Ball with Gobert at the rim, but that pairing is new and DiVincenzo is out.
The key duel is Giannis and Adebayo against Gobert at the rim, and Miami's wing defenders against the Wolves' guard creation. Adebayo has said he should play, and Smith and Gardner are available. Rest is level at five days each. How it flows: Miami lean on size and depth, Minnesota need their guards to shoot well to keep pace. That's why I'm siding with Miami.
Brooklyn host Charlotte. Charlotte are missing Knueppel and White, their two lead creators, plus Grant Williams and Boswell, while Brooklyn are missing only a fringe forward. Both teams lack strong shot creation, so turnovers and shot quality matter more than star power.
Charlotte's remaining shooters struggle to create for themselves, and Brooklyn's handoff offence through Randle and Porter should find steadier looks at home. Charlotte still have more top-end talent, so this should be tight. That's why I'm siding with Brooklyn.
