Brisbane had most of the chances against Perth and still finished with a one-goal margin. Perth’s Matthew Ellis scored after coming off the bench, which changed the feel of a match Brisbane had led by two. Was that a real shift in Perth’s attacking access, or one efficient moment inside a game Brisbane otherwise controlled?
Our provisional event log has Brisbane’s goals from Justin Vidic and Tae Hee Nam before the interval, then Ellis replacing Giovanni De Abreu and scoring soon after. The final stats show Brisbane with 14 shots, 11 from inside the box, against Perth’s seven shots and four from inside. Perth recorded only one shot on target. Those totals lean toward Brisbane, but they cannot show whether Perth’s changes forced Brisbane deeper; I’d be interested in what people saw after Ellis entered.
