AZ's wide combinations will face a Twente side that can press the first midfield pass and attack the space behind advancing fullbacks. Barcelona's high possession and Real Madrid's quick left-to-centre attacks create a very different rhythm. In both games, the next possession after a turnover matters more than raw shot volume. Each side also has a restart route that can survive a spell without the ball.

AZ can find Patati and Daal wide, but Twente have Weghorst's layoff, Rots and Van Rooij to turn an early recovery into a box entry. AZ's Hornkamp, Smit and Resink had already missed recent games, while Clasie and Goes played at Cambuur but missed the European trip and remain uncertain. Twente's Unnerstall, Lemkin and Bruns also missed their recent European game; Drommel and the Pröpper–Nijstad pair have already played the replacement minutes. Twente can answer AZ's territory with an organised first pass and a second-half attacking change. That's why I'm siding with Twente.

Barcelona can work Yamal into repeated right-side chances and have shown a second attacking response after conceding. Madrid can find Diomande and Mbappé on the first release, while Güler's restarts bring another source of close-range finishes. Courtois played against Leipzig but is now out with flu; Madrid also remain without Vinícius, while Barcelona lost Olmo during PSG and have Koundé and Eric García out. The current back-line changes and both teams' separate attacking routes point to a game with several waves of clean chances. That's why I'm siding with a high-scoring Barcelona–Real Madrid match.
