This looks like a match with more open phases than the reputations suggest. Burgos carry a name for tight defending, but most of that comes from last season's coach, and Granada's leaky record is partly an early-game problem that has a real structure behind it. The game should be decided in the first quarter of an hour and again after the hour mark, and both of those windows have been busy for these two.

Burgos are a low-volume side: under ten shots a game, 43 percent of the ball, and they win through a few well-built chances and set plays before defending the lead. Under the current coach they have only two clean sheets in eight league games and have conceded five in four home matches, with the chances they allow at home averaging about one and a half expected goals. At Almeria they led at the break and then conceded twice after the 77th minute against 25 shots.

Granada are the opposite: more than half the ball, 15 to 23 shots in recent games, most of them inside the box, and a habit of going behind early. They conceded inside the first eight minutes in five of eight league games, and eight of their thirteen goals this season have come after the 60th minute, helped by a bench that changes the game. Their number nine, Marques, has been out since the Andorra match in late September, so Arnaiz leads the line as a false nine, which blunts their box presence but not their volume or their late pressure.

The key matchups are Granada's quick start and wide play against Burgos' first fifteen minutes, and Granada's shot volume against Burgos' centre-backs and keeper. Burgos' back line should be sturdier with Grego Sierra and Sergio Gonzalez reported fit, and the keeper has kept them in games, but a block that is stretched late has already given way twice this season.

How it should flow: an early goal for either side is a live path, because Granada start badly and Burgos like to strike first. If it stays level into the second half, substitutions and tired legs favour more goals, not fewer, and both sides have scored late recently. One early goal plus a late one from either side is enough to get this past a low total, and the early phase alone already supplies the first.

That is why I'm leaning on goals in this match: Granada's early weakness, their late scoring, Burgos' late concessions at home, and a season where most of both teams' games have produced three or more.
