Washington's interior scoring meets Atlanta's pressure on the perimeter. The central contest is whether the Wizards can move the ball beyond the first defender before the Hawks' thin frontcourt has to help. The rotation changes should be especially revealing because each team has a different way of creating its next opening.

Young can engage the first defender, George can receive and make the next decision, and Davis and Dybantsa give Washington several finishing options. All three of Davis, George and Dybantsa supplied substantial scoring against Orlando. That gives Washington an attack with more than one destination against Daniels, Dort and Alexander-Walker.

Atlanta generated plenty of passing and outside shooting against Indiana, but also conceded substantial interior production. Landale, Gueye and Veesaar remain out, leaving Newell and Ejiofor involved behind Okongwu. Washington already demonstrated its scoring connections without Sarr, who remains questionable; Coulibaly and Atlanta's Johnson are also listed as questionable in the report used for this analysis.

I expect Washington to keep seeking interior catches early and return to that pressure when Okongwu rests. George's involvement gives the Wizards another way to restart an attack through the middle quarters and into the closing possessions. That's why I'm siding with the Washington Wizards to win: their demonstrated receiving and finishing options meet a specific cost in Atlanta's current rotation.
