Leipzig’s width and Frankfurt’s quick striker combinations give this meeting two distinct routes into the box. Napoli and Frosinone have a similar contest between passing through pressure and attacking the space left behind it. In each match, the important connection is the supplier finding a runner before the defence resets.
Leipzig can work through Nusa and Raum, with Nkunku receiving inside. Nusa has already supplied Nkunku and delivered a free kick for Orban, while Frankfurt’s response comes through Burkardt linking with Uzun or the next runner. Frankfurt’s Freiburg performance exposed problems closing down wide delivery and tracking the far post; Leipzig’s Leverkusen performance showed the importance of cover once its first pressure is beaten.
Baumgartner and Ouedraogo are unavailable, so Leipzig’s picture centres on the attacking connections already demonstrated by the alternatives. Frankfurt are again without Maluze, but their Burkardt-led attack has operated during that absence. I expect the opening pressure battle to give way to an important adjustment phase after halftime, with wide delivery and second balls remaining useful routes. That’s why I’m siding with goals in Leipzig’s meeting with Frankfurt.
Napoli’s first task is to move Gilmour and Lobotka’s passes beyond Calò and Masini’s pressure. Neres created close-range opportunities at Fiorentina, and Napoli have also found goals through midfield arrivals. Frosinone have their own established answer: Schmid released Kvernadze against Como and Genoa, and supplied Calò from a cutback against Como. Their clean sheet against Como still involved repeated shots on target and Palmisani saves.
Anguissa and Buongiorno are out for Napoli, while Olivera and Favasuli’s absences remove different supporting and arriving roles. The projected use of Neres shifts the creative work toward carrying and delivery; McTominay is available for a limited late contribution. Frosinone’s Calò–Masini midfield already operated without Grillitsch, preserving the supply behind Schmid and the wide runners. I expect Napoli to seek territory early and Frosinone to attack quickly after regains, with second-half adjustments changing the space around the fullbacks. That’s why I’m also siding with goals in Napoli’s match against Frosinone.
