Two home sides in very different spots. Phoenix Hagen are rested and have a big man who should cause problems, while Frankfurt arrive squeezed between two Eurocup games. Gijon are a team that barely scores at home and are now down to two first-team attackers. In both games I think the price leans too hard on the bigger name.
Frankfurt's coach Klaus Perwas put the heavy defeat in Venice down to tired legs: their third game in six days, with two trips. They host Siauliai two days after this game, while Hagen have had nearly a week off. The newly promoted side have been in their games too. They led by 15 at Chemnitz and only lost in overtime.
The matchup inside favours Hagen. Cameron Krutwig went 12 of 15 from the field for 27 points at Chemnitz, and Frankfurt are the worst rebounding team in the league.
Gijon have scored once in four league home games, and the chances haven't been there either. Since the derby defeat at Oviedo, Otero, Nacho Martin and Sarco have joined an injury list that already had Ferrari, Konrad, Bruno Rubio and Iosifov on it, and Gelabert is suspended. Local reports say Gaspar Campos and Antonio Casas are the only first-team attackers left.
Celta Fortuna are a different side away from home. Their road games finished 0-0 at Cadiz, 2-0 at Ceuta and 0-2 at Almeria. A tight, low-scoring game at El Molinon looks like the shape of this one.
