Hamburg's compact back line can make territory hard to turn into a clean shot. Frankfurt's strongest route is to recycle the first blocked attack and combine through the space around Hamburg's midfield screen. Hamburg will seek a direct exit to its forward and wing backs whenever that pressure is broken.
Hamburg survived heavy Stuttgart pressure with Fernandes in goal, then struggled to connect its first pass at Paderborn. Vieira, Nadir and Poulsen played portions of that last match but are ruled out for this cup game, while Remberg and defensive options remain absent; Fernandes is also set to sit. Frankfurt's forwards and right-side combination were available at Dortmund, and Aséko's short exchange with Ebnoutalib against Köln showed how a second action can reach the box.
Frankfurt can probe the compact shape early and keep returning to the central second ball. Hamburg's thinner links make its sustained reply harder once the visitors establish those entries. That's why I'm siding with Eintracht Frankfurt.
