Bordalás spent his pre-match press conference on Getafe's goals against, saying they have to stop the "sangría" as soon as possible. The league table splits that problem in two, though. At the Coliseum, Getafe have played five, lost none and conceded 3; away from home they've let in 12 and haven't scored once. So Sevilla aren't walking into the side that leaked four at Bilbao, and the real question is whether their width can pull a short-handed home team out of the shape that has actually been holding.
Bordalás named that threat himself. He said Sevilla have five wide players of a very high level, Ejuke, Vargas and Alfon among them, and that Getafe have none. The flanks are also where he's thinnest: Mojica is suspended, Mario Martín is banned after his red card at Bilbao, Zaid Romero has relapsed, and Uche and Juanmi are still injured. FútbolFantasy expects a return to three centre-backs with Djené back from suspension, and an open call at right wing-back between Andrés García and Kiko Femenía. A back three is only as solid as the wing-backs who have to defend Sevilla's wingers one against one, and that is where this squad is stretched.
Sevilla's rotation looks less damaging than it sounds. García Plaza said anyone who played the full Copa tie won't start, but Kike Salas, Suazo, Agoumé and Stassin weren't in that Copa squad at all, so the changes bring rested regulars back rather than a reserve side. Their away league games have been open, 9 scored and 9 conceded in five. Getafe, by contrast, have had four matches in fourteen days, needed to come back from 2-0 down at Lebrijana in the Copa, and have Brighton in the Conference League straight after this.
One detail makes me cautious about the 'Getafe are collapsing' story. Athletic's xG in that 4-0 was 0.74, and Bordalás said most of the goals they've conceded lately were very similar errors. That reads more like repeatable mistakes than a structure being torn open. If those errors stay away, this is a Coliseum game, low-scoring and scrappy; if one turns up early, Sevilla's away profile is exactly the kind that punishes it. Borja Mayoral is also back on the list alongside Ünal, Satriano and Azón, which softens Bordalás's complaint about having almost nothing to bring on in attack.
