Gangwon's pressure should bring territory and restarts, while Kuching have a direct route into the space behind that pressure. In Shanghai, the first pass out of Shenhua's half faces Machida's high press and second-ball runners. Both matches hinge on what happens after the first move is stopped.
Gangwon's Kim Dae-won and Goh Young-jun have fed repeated entries, but recent pressure against Incheon and Phnom Penh produced little from the next clear contact. Kuching can find Shitembi or Etame after a regain and release Ramadhan or Wenzel-Halls behind the advancing flank. Hwang Mun-ki played Gangwon's latest match before surgery; Mo Jae-hyeon played part of it and is now uncertain. Kuching's João Pedro and Safawi played their latest match before fresh fitness doubts, while Shitembi, Etame and Ramadhan remain recent outlets. I expect Gangwon to command more of the ball, with Kuching making enough direct entries to stay close. That's why I'm siding with Kuching City to stay in the game.
Shenhua can use Teixeira to find Ratão or Asué after a clean escape, and Gao Tianyi supplies dangerous restarts. Machida's Soma and Ouwejan can keep sending the ball back in, with Lavi and Mae collecting the next ball for Ogawa and Nishimura. Wu Xi left Shenhua's latest match early with injury, Zhu Chenjie missed it after a fracture diagnosis, and Jiang Shenglong had only just returned; Ratão and Asué both played. Machida's core pressing and wide roles were present in their recent domestic matches after the rotated Tampines side. I expect repeated recoveries to make Machida's box access more sustained than Shenhua's escapes. That's why I'm siding with Machida to win.
