Auxerre's inside combinations meet a Le Mans side built around a compact centre and direct outlets. The home forwards have recently linked passes and runs across several different opponents, while the visitors rely more on delivery into their front pair. The important contest is the handoff between midfield and defence when a receiver turns toward goal.
Danois gives Auxerre a route into Faivre and Namaso, with Archer running beyond them. Against Le Havre, Danois supplied Namaso, Faivre supplied his next goal and Namaso returned the favour. That combination gives Auxerre several ways to move Le Mans's outside centre-backs before the final pass.
Auxerre's current absences were already missing from that functioning attack. Le Mans have fresh changes after Voyer's injury exit and Larouci's latest appearance, with both excluded from the reported squad. Bourabaa remains unavailable, leaving Calodat's delivery and Mafouta's receiving work as important away outlets.
I expect Auxerre to keep working the inside channels and increase the pressure as the match develops. Their recent home defending against Nice and Brest also gives the attacking case some support at the other end. That's why I'm siding with Auxerre to win.
