Samsung and KIA meet with both starting pitchers capable of carrying the game into the middle innings. The decisive baseball sequence is getting runners aboard before the heart of the order, then handing a close game to rested late arms. In Daejeon, the football contest turns on the first midfield pass and the next ball after a wide delivery. Both matches have clear routes for each team, with the timing of the first clean contact shaping what follows.
For KIA, Oller's rough July inning against Samsung came amid a mechanics and pitch-tipping problem; his later Samsung start and recent six-inning playoff outing showed the corrected version. Samsung need Ji-chan aboard before Koo, Diaz or a newly used Choi can cash in, while Jurado has previously worked through KIA hits without a big inning. Koo played as a designated hitter after his hamstring injury and Choi was unused in the previous game. KIA can put a runner ahead of Kim Do-young, Castro and Na Seong-beom, and its lightly used late relievers give that attack a strong handoff. That's why I'm siding with the KIA Tigers to finish ahead.
Daejeon can reach its wide players through Kim Bong-soo and feed Joo or Diogo, including on the next ball after a clearance. Kobe's Ideguchi-led pressure meets the home side's recent slow midfield starts, with Muto moving around Osako for the first receiving chance. Osako, Muto, Ideguchi, Sakai and Gonda all played in Kobe's latest match; Sasaki also returned for a shorter spell and adds a direct outlet. Kobe have shown an immediate wide-cross response after conceding, so I expect their pressure and receiving options to keep them in this match. That's why I'm siding with Vissel Kobe.
