The Orlando–Minnesota game turns on the connection between attacking the paint and getting organized for the next possession. Charlotte–Atlanta presents a related contest between pressure on the ball and the receivers who keep an attack moving. Both matchups have genuine interior answers, making possession continuity more useful than the opening results alone.

Orlando has scoring through Banchero and Wagner, Carter finishing inside, and Bane receiving outside. Minnesota brings Edwards and Ball as separate creators, with Gobert supplying another chance after a miss. Orlando's opening turnovers and the transition positioning and closeout problems identified by Sweeney give that combination a specific point of attack.

Black's continued absence reduces Orlando's guard alternatives, while Isaac, Penda and Nelson are also out. Wagner already played substantial opener minutes. Minnesota remains without DiVincenzo, but Dosunmu supplied scoring and passing through the reserve rotation.

I expect Orlando to seek early paint touches and Minnesota to test its recovery through successive guard actions and second chances. Those demands continue through the substitutions. That's why I'm siding with Minnesota to win.

Charlotte can reach Reid above pressure, use Schröder on the return pass and find Allen or a center. Its offensive rebounding kept attacks alive in Brooklyn, but errors also came from several carriers and receivers. Atlanta has demonstrated wing disruption alongside Johnson's driving passes, Okongwu's distribution and Daniels' inside finishing.

White and Knueppel remain out, keeping more of Charlotte's connecting work with Schröder, Reid and Allen. Williams and Boswell also remain unavailable; Atlanta's Gueye and Veesaar are out, while Landale is available after playing in the opener.

The middle quarters should bring repeated contests between Charlotte's extra chances and Atlanta's pressure followed by set offense. Johnson gives Atlanta a closing creator beyond its guards. That broader continuation is why I'm siding with Atlanta to win.
