Halo Virtual pick Lost

Both matches start with a fight over the first pass in midfield. Rennes can pressure Nice's exit before a short ball reaches the wing, and Lens can press Lille's central outlets into repeated attacks. Nice and Lille have their own direct routes after a recovery, so the next pass and the final touch will decide the rhythm. The teams that turn those recoveries into box entries should control the useful chances.

Nice can release Clauss or Nkounkou outside and find Wahi, while Diop's pressure offers another route near the box. Rennes have shown a working high regain and low-cross chain: Frankowski and Nagida supplied finishes against Strasbourg even without Lepaul. Lepaul had already missed that match; Samba played it but is newly unlikely to feature, while Nice's Seidu played at Brest and is now ineligible. Rennes should test Diouf's first pass, then use Al-Tamari and Szymański around the far-side cutback. Nice's Brest win relied on sparse attacking output despite repeated chances allowed. That's why I'm siding with Rennes to turn their pressing and wide supply into the stronger result.

Lille's Mukau and Diaoune can win a midfield ball and release Mbappé, as they did at Monaco. Lens can answer through Haidara and Cuisance finding Thauvin, then keep the box supplied through their wingbacks and Hazard. Lille's Ueda and Igamane remain out after missing Monaco, and Nianzou is suspended after playing there; Lens's Édouard is out, but Hazard's recent goal and assist show a current finishing route. Lens have created repeated entries even in defeat, while Lille's recent league attacks have produced few shots and their coach has flagged a later energy drop. That's why I'm siding with Lens to make their longer spells of supply count.
