Two NBA games on the second night of back-to-backs, where depth and legs decide more than the headline names. Both are priced as tight or lopsided on thin two-game samples, so the useful question is who actually has the edge in minutes and scoring ability.
Atlanta hosts Houston. Atlanta's last game was a blowout of Charlotte, so its starters likely carried lighter minutes, while Houston won a close game in San Antonio and then had to travel. Atlanta brings pace and heavy three-point volume at home, and Houston has been giving up points late, with a fourth-quarter average above thirty. Houston's route is size and free throws against Atlanta's thinned big rotation, which is why I keep this one modest. That's why I'm siding with Atlanta at home.
Phoenix against Golden State. Phoenix has rest and home court, but it scores under 98 a game over its last ten and opened the season with an 83-point loss, so a double-digit win has no clear source. Golden State's missing players, Butler and Moody, have been out for weeks and are already in its results, including a three-point loss to Memphis. I'm on Golden State to stay within the margin rather than to win outright.
