Groningen and Sparta both have routes into the box, and both have recently struggled to defend the next action after an attack. Groningen can threaten through a restart or a break into wide space. Sparta's crosses have found a reliable central target. The game looks capable of opening up again after its first exchange of goals.
Groningen's Rente-to-Willumsson restart connection produced a goal against NEC, while Van Bergen supplied a separate chance from open play. Sparta's back five have still allowed box access. At the other end, Babadi and Toornstra have found Zonneveld with crosses, and Groningen have been exposed after their own attacks. Jeng and Mercera missed Groningen's cup match and remain out; this case does not rely on an uncertain Mito return for Sparta.
If either team scores first, the other has an established way to respond. The next delivery after a reset matters too: Groningen can return through Willumsson or Van Bergen, while Sparta can work another cross toward Zonneveld. That's why I'm siding with a high-scoring match.
