Verdy's recent improvement comes from keeping attacks alive through different receivers. Shimizu have a clear route through Oh and the wide players, but their latest possession has produced little accurate finishing. The important contest is the next pass after the first challenge, especially when the substitutes enter.
Fujimoto can connect with Someno centrally, while Mizoguchi supplies a separate route toward Ichimi. Kumatoriya, Matsuhashi and Teranuma have helped Verdy create again after an equalizer, making this more than a story about consecutive wins.
Morita and Teranuma both played in the last match. Saito and Cho left that game injured, while Shimizu's Hasukawa and Matsuzaki also have unresolved injury concerns; my reading uses the replacements already seen rather than treating every flag as a confirmed absence.
I expect Shimizu to press the first connection and Verdy to alternate central receptions with releases out wide. The continuation across changing receivers gives Verdy the stronger attacking thread. That's why I'm siding with Tokyo Verdy, with the draw returning the stake.
